The Awakening Kate Chopin

The First Edition Library's beautiful facsimile of Chopin's 1899 classic, the first novel to examine an affair from the woman's perspective. The front hinge may have been reglued- binding is nice and tight but the front groove looks a little off. Otherwise as new, a beautiful book. The original was published wthout a dust jacket, hence the facsimile has no dust jacket. The slipcase has a tiny smudge on the front panel, otherwise fine. Photos are the best description. First Edition Library Facsimiles had the same weight, size, typeface, art, dust jacket, finish and texture as the originals. Even mistakes (all first edition points are present) were duplicated The series is now out of print and these facsimiles are collectible in their own right. The publisher's slip describing first edition points and other information about the book is prized by collectors and this book has it.
