[Signed] [First Edition] War Horse. ***Scarce Illustrated Large Format - Signed*** Michael Morpurgo [Used - Fine] [Hardcover]

First Edition thus. This lovely large-format illustrated edition was adapted from his famous book by the author, and features the colourful artwork of Tom Clohosy Cole. However, what truly distinguishes this first printing is that it is SIGNED by Michael Morpurgo directly to title-page, in black marker pen. Due to various factors at the time of the book's release - including Covid restrictions and the author's age - it is especially uncommon to encounter this edition bearing the author's signature, as opposed to a bookplate. A modern classic children's book that was originally published in 1982; the condition is excellent, an unread, unworn book in the publisher's illustrated boards with the dust-jacket that bears a single closed tear to top left (close to spine) which has been internally repaired. (The jacket has been fitted with a removeable protector). An important work in modern children's fiction, and a very appealing edition with the author's highly desirable signature. (Dimensions: approx. 25.5cm x 28.5cm).
