An apparently unrecorded parliamentary bill proposing amendments to the 1750 Act for extending and improving the Trade to Africa, specifically reducing the number of committee members and restraining the trade opportunities of the African Company of Merchants. The bill was seemingly never enacted.; the Company was abolished in 1821, with all assets passing to the Crown. From the recently dispersed library (without any indication of such) of British scholar and senior civil servant William St Clair (1937-2021), and presumably used by him in his research for his acclaimed book The Grand Slave Emporium: Cape Coast Castle and the British Slave Trade (2006).
