Dr Sheikh Mohammad Iqbal (b. 1928) studies Saudi power from the 18th century to the 1950s. The folding map shows the territorial reintegration of Saudi Arabia under Ibn Sa'ud, while the illustrations include royal portraits, the Grand Mosque at Mecca, and the old port at Jeddah. Iqbal, born in Sialkot, Pakistan, is a scholar of Islamic history and was friend of Faisal bin Abd al-Aziz (1906-1975). Octavo. Original dark green cloth, front cover and spine lettered in gilt.
