Front wrapper with lower corner creased and tender, upper right corner with non-textual loss, and the following half dozen leaves with corner creasing. Rear wrapper and few leaves with some corner creasing, small edge tear to base. Paper internally is browned but still generally supple. Several page corners turned. Spine unusually clean and readable. Light overall wear to the extremities. Some soiling to the verso of the front wrapper. Wraps. A rare survival. This guide was part of an official series produced by Spalding over many years. Priced at only 10 cents. Great base ball advertisements in the rear. This is NOT the 1980s reprint, but an original printed in 1887. First issued in 1877. NOTE: We have not attempted to smooth out creases on this book because of the paper, leaving this to a good conservator if desired by the next owner.
