Lobby Card For Marching On, 1 1943 Film Which Had An African American Cast And Was Written And Directed By Spencer Williams African American Authors,African Americana,World War Ii

Lobby Card (11 x 14 inch) Blue and brown. Distributed by Astor Pictures Co. Dallas, TX. We don't know how many lobby cards were produced for this film which was a commercial failure. Spencer Williams, 1893-1969, was an African American. He made several other race films, some successful. "The Blood of Jesus," made with a budget of $5000 in 1941, is generally regarded as an important race film and Spencer's best film. Williams was also an actor and played Andrew H. Brown ("Andy") in the "Amos 'n' Andy TV series (1951-1953).
