All first printing copies are now very scarce since this is one of the classic, principal books on mountaineering in the Sierra Nevada. The example has some light soiling to covers, a small greenish smudge over the cover illustration, slight bump to the upper outside corner of the last 72 pages of text and upper rear cover corner (not bad), old owner signed private bookplate on inside of front cover otherwise no previous owner marks or writing on any pages,no foxing, solid binding. .
