Autograph letter signed, one page - addressed to the reverse of a conjoined sheet, 4,75 x 7,25 inch, Montlignon, 26.09.[1835], in French, to Jean-Baptiste-Roger Fauchon D`Henneville - concerning the upcoming funeral of Italian opera composer Vincenzo Bellini (1801-1835), written and signed in black ink "L. Cherubini",attractively mounted (removable) for display with aportrait picture of Luigi Cherubini (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with scattered mild signs of age wear, and a small area of paper loss to a corner of the address sheet (text unaffected) - in nearly very fine condition. Accompanied by a facsimile pencil portrait of Cherubini. Provenance: Johannes Brahms (loose bookplate reading `Aus dem Nachlasse Johannes Brahms / no. 384 / Die Erbenvertretung Hamburg - Wien` and wrapper inscribed `Cherubini`, perhaps in Brahms` hand); Sotheby`s, 12 May 1981, lot 81.
