Die, Evan Dando, Die was the brainchild of Jeff Fox, who had made the great parody zine Maximum Rock n' Raoul. As covered in Entertainment Weekly and other mainstream venues, Fox made only 200 copies of the zine initially, but after a deluge of fan mail and death threats and coverage in all sorts of magazines he made another 800 copies and distributed them nationally, at Tower Records and other venues.
