Dark blue blind stamped cloth boards with gold lettering on spine. Cover has some rubbing and spots of color loss. Spine has some chipping and scratches. Rubbing to edges, and corner tip of boards bend inwards. Previous owners' names on front endpapers. Pages have some age toning and foxing. There are some antique moisture stains on some of the pages with resulting tone of pages being slightly darker at those spots. Small edge tears on the first pages, the worst and last tear is on page 13 where a few words are missing from top sentence (part of the introduction entitled "Address to Parents." The main Lectures on the Proverbs are not damaged in any way. Tightly bound copy with clean interior having no markings, writing, underlining, or highlighting in margins or text block. Rev. George Coles (1791-1858) was an English Methodist Minister who emigrated to the United States, and died in New York. SCARCE. Inv. # 11291
