Pictures by Maurice Sendak. Sm4to. Very good plus book in very good dust jacket. First Edition. Illustrated paper covered boards, black cloth tape on spine. Boards are clean, lightly sunned and scuffed on outermost edges but no rub-throughs. Illustrated end papers have faint shadow transfers. Previous owner's name on FFEP. Book is internally clean, no marks or tears. Dust jacket is lightly soiled overall. Outermost edges are sunned. Creasing to spine and fore-edges which are scuffed. Edges at head and tail of jacket spine are chipped and rubbed with loss of less than 1/4" and with closed vertical tears of 3/16" or less. Lower edge of front jacket panel at tail of spine has a 7/8" closed vertical tear along the front spine fold and with two adjacent diagonal creases of 2 1/2" and 1 1/2" to the lower edge; the tear has been repaired with archival tape on the reverse. Lower edge on back jacket panel has a closed vertical tear of 1 1/4" to the left of center, difficult to see due to the archival tape repair on the reverse; and a second closed vertical tear of 1/4" with surrounding rubs to the left of center on the lower edge of back panel. The lower corner of the front inside flap has a1 5/8" by 1", but the price of $1.75 is intact in upper corner of same flap.
