Located in central Greece, in the village of Achinos, La Tour Melas is a small but renowned winery that produces high-quality wines, focusing on indigenous grape varieties. The estate's vineyards extend across the hills surrounding the village and enjoy particularly favorable conditions for quality viticulture. Idylle d'Achinos is a splendid Greek rosé with an elegant character reminiscent of the legendary Provençal wines. Produced in limited quantities from a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Agiorgitiko from vineyards over sixty years old in the village of Achinos, Phthiotis. Here, the vines, cultivated according to organic and biodynamic standards, are densely planted and yield low to ensure high concentration of grapes. The result is a wine of great character, pale in color with light salmon tones. Its aromatic profile is delicate and elegant, with notes of raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate, and cherry, followed by hints of orange blossom and pink grapefruit on a sweet, shortcrust pastry background. On the palate, it has a medium body and surprising concentration. It is fresh, lively, and crisp, with a vibrant acidity and a long, fruity finish. It pairs perfecly with scampi risotto, pasta with cherry tomatoes and arugula, Pad Thai, and fish carpaccio in a citrus sauce.
