BOOK DESCRIPTION: 8vo, 275 pgs, photo illustrations. Four-line presentation from the author, dated Nov 8, 1928. Gilt titled cover; with dust jacket. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Green woven cloth with small spot on spine, minor shelf soiling. Interior with inscription to named soldier who served injured the 128th Infantry in France, dated and signed by G. W. Garlock, the author and former Lt. Col. of the 128th Infantry, A.E.F. Else the interior is clean and tight. Dust jacket is well chipped on spine and edges, front panel illustration intact; with old tape stains on spine. Now protected by a mylar sleeve. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: This is a very nice history as told by the stories of the soldiers recounted by a long serving officer of the Regiment and Division. The fame and lore of the 32nd Division is extensive as it was a leading fighting Division in the war. Made up of men from Wisconsin and Michigan, it became know in French as, "Les Terribles", referring to its fortitude in advancing over terrain others. Piercing the Hindenburg Line, it took up the shoulder patch emblem of the Red Arrow piercing a line; later becoming known as the Red Arrow Division. This fine narrative is an entertaining read, full of detail and interesting vignettes.
