CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Minor rubbing to spine ends and corners; gilt bright. Interior pages age-toned; title page with inked stamp, else clean and tight. With clear mylar wrapper. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The 19th Connecticut Infantry was mustered in on July 25, 1862. It was sent to Washington DC. It was reorganized as a heavy artillery regiment on November 23, 1863, although it fought as infantry throughout the war. The regiment saw action in Virginia and suffered very heavy casualties at Cold Harbor and Cedar Creek. The 2nd Connecticut Heavy Artillery is recognized as one of the FOX 300 Fighting Regiments.
