BOOK DESCRIPTION: 12mo, 226, 22, lxix, 9 pgs. Illustrations, plans, frontis portrait, 7 maps including 3 folding. Unit roster as appendix. Original decorative blue cloth with gilt titled spine and cover, with gilt design on front cover. Penciled name and address of former owner (Charlton M. Woodford). CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Light rubbing to edges and spine ends; gilt bright. Interior is clean and tight. All the folding maps are complete and without tears. With clear mylar wrapper. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The author was a private in Co. A, a clerk in Adj. General s Department and at General Terry s Headquarters. A rather scarce regimental history; here in near fine condition. The 7th Conn Infantry is recognized as a FOX 300 Fighting Regiment. The Seventh Connecticut fought as skirmishers at Olustee, Florida and afterwards was soon transferred to Virginia, fighting at Drewry's Bluff, Bermuda Hundred, Deep Bottom, and Petersburg among other actions. The Seventh Connecticut also fought in the assault on Fort Fisher, and ended the war in North Carolina.
