This CDI allows activating and deactivating the rev limiter that comes factory-installed on several models. Switching modes is done conveniently using the included remote control. This is an ideal solution for tuning a 50cc bike with setups like a racing exhaust or a sport cylinder. The CDI can also be used as a replacement for a missing or damaged stock part, while simultaneously offering the ability to re-restrict the moped during a traffic stop or technical inspection. Available modes: Mode A: RPM to 4,000 rpm→ Anti-theft mode: The moped is barely rideable Mode B: RPM limited to 7,000 rpm→ Top speed of approx. 45 km/h Mode C: RPM limited to 8,000 rpm→ Top speed of approx. 50 km/h Mode D: Maximum RPM of 16,000 rpm→ Unrestricted The CDI features a small display that shows the currently selected mode. What are the benefits of an unrestricted CDI? On many 50cc geared bikes, the stock CDI unit limits engine speed to around 7,500 rpm. As a result, the engine cannot fully utilize its potential with a higher-performance setup. Replacing the stock CDI with the Stage6 unrestricted CDI eliminates the rev limit to match a setup with racing parts. The final result also depends on the other installed components, especially the cylinder, exhaust, carburetor, and carburetor jetting.
