Published in London in three volumes in 1816, this being the first printing of Malory's Morte D'Arthur since the 1634 Stansby edition, this is the classic retelling of the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, bound in attractive recent half leather bindings with marbled paper covered boards, each volume is illustrated with an engraved frontispiece, volume one also has a folding frontispiece of King Arthur and his Knights sitting at the Round Table which also appeared in the Stansby edition. Each volume has two title pages, the 1816 title pages, and1634 Stansby title pages. Books are small pocket sized formats measuring just under 5.5 inches tall, bindings are in very nice condition, internally a few occasional small marks, the folding frontispiece is a little worn at the leading edge, else a very attractive set of this early printing of Malory's Morte D'Arthur.
